Tower defense with real-time strategy elements, where you can create towers by combining runes and select their abilities.
Build custom towers.
In The Hero We Need you unlock runes as you play. Every rune can give you a projectile type like arrows, boulder, sawblades, energy beam, and more. Or can give stats, called augment rune, that augments the tower abilities (multiple targets, slow enemies, explosion on impact, poison and more). Each tower can have 1 projectile rune and up to 4 augment runes.
Challenging enemies.
Be it in campaign or in the Quick Battle mode, enemies are versatile and dangerous. Some are flying, other move really fast and a lot of them, attack you back.
Playable heroes.
Heroes in THWN are unique playable characters each with their own special abilities to add to your strategy.

- In the current state of Early Access we have 30 playable maps. Each major update adds 10 more and we plan for at least 2 more major updates.
